Terms of Service
Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using the Kova platform. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Kova.
1. Definitions
- "Kova", "we", "us" — the Kova platform and its operators
- "Platform" — the Kova web application at kova.work and any related services
- "Worker" — a user registered with the "worker" role
- "Employer" — a user registered with the "employer" role
- "User" — any registered account holder
- "Verified" — a user whose identity or business credentials have been reviewed and approved by Kova
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Kova. By registering, you confirm that:
- You are aged 18 or over
- You are legally permitted to work in the jurisdictions you select
- All information you provide is accurate, current, and not misleading
- You are not prohibited from using the platform by applicable law
3. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You must notify us immediately at support@kova.work if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
You may not create more than one account per person or per company. You may not share your account with others.
4. Workers
As a worker, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about your qualifications, experience, and credentials
- Only upload documents that you own or have the right to submit
- Not misrepresent your trade, skills, certifications, or right to work
- Not upload fraudulent, altered, or third-party identity documents
- Keep your profile information current and up to date
Uploading false or misleading credentials may result in immediate account termination and may be reported to relevant authorities.
5. Employers
As an employer, you agree to:
- Only post genuine job opportunities for roles that actually exist
- Not post speculative, fake, or test listings on the live platform
- Comply with all applicable employment and equality law in your jurisdiction
- Not discriminate against workers on the basis of age, gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, or any other protected characteristic
- Treat worker profile data you access through the platform as confidential — you may not store, export, or use worker data outside of the hiring process
- Provide accurate information about your company and business status
6. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
- Harass, abuse, or threaten other users
- Send unsolicited commercial messages (spam)
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or platform systems
- Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract platform data by automated means
- Use the platform to facilitate human trafficking, forced labour, or illegal employment
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Upload malware, viruses, or harmful code
7. Verification
Kova offers an optional verification process. Verified status indicates that our team has reviewed submitted documents and found them consistent with the claimed credentials — it is not a guarantee of suitability for employment. Kova is not responsible for errors or fraud in verification documents submitted by users.
Verification may be revoked at any time if we determine that submitted documents were false or misleading.
8. Intellectual property
The Kova platform, brand, design, and code are owned by us and protected by intellectual property law. You retain ownership of any content you upload (CVs, profile text, documents). By uploading content, you grant Kova a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and display that content solely for the purpose of operating the platform.
9. Disclaimers
The platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Kova does not guarantee employment outcomes, the accuracy of user-provided information, or the suitability of any worker or employer. We are not a party to any employment relationship established through the platform.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kova shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of income, loss of data, or reputational harm. Our total liability shall not exceed the fees paid by you to Kova in the 12 months preceding the claim (or €100 if no fees were paid).
11. Termination
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at support@kova.work. We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you breach these terms, without refund of any fees.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any dispute arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms at any time. We will give at least 14 days' notice of material changes by email. Your continued use of the platform after the effective date of any change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
